In our Scripture for this week we run into two “secret disciples” of Jesus, a man named Nicodemus and another man named Joseph who was from Arimathea. I’ve read articles and sermons detailing the scandal of their secret allegiance to Jesus. Preachers quote Jesus to condemn Nicodemus and Joseph for their secrecy. One of the most popular passages is found in Matthew 10:32-33. Take a look at it with me. Continue reading “Secret Disciple No More!

The Remedy
John 19:16-30

We live in an interesting day. Everyone recognizes that there is something wrong with the world, but we can’t agree upon the cause of the problem. I’ve been thinking about this during the past week as I’ve been studying John 19:16-30. I’ve come to the conclusion that even though there is a wide array, a multitude of opinions about what is wrong with our world, we can really categorize the answers under two headings: It’s someone else’s fault or it’s my own fault. Encouragement For All Mothers
Judges 13

Mother’s Day, according to Hallmark and the other greeting card companies, is a warm fuzzy kind of day filled with Disney-like moments, but the reality of Mother’s Day can’t be captured by a Hallmark card. The reality of Mother’s Day is this: Mother’s Day, like life, is complicated. First of all, there are mothers with us this morning who are experiencing a Hallmark kind of moment this Mother’s Day. Cherish it. Relish it. Drink in it in like a cool drink of water on a hot summer’s day. There are others among us for whom today is not such a festive occasion. There are mothers with us this morning who have lost a child. I don’t need to try and describe what they are feeling. There are also those among us who no longer have a mom present to honor and Mother’s Day can be very lonely and painful, a reminder of what we once had, but no longer can enjoy. Or, some whose mothers are no longer with us suffer the grief of knowing they failed to honor her while she was alive and now the opportunity is gone. There are also mothers who are with us, but who are not with their children because something has happened to break the relationship they once had with their son or daughter and today is a painful reminder of what once was. There are also people with us whose mom was never the storybook description of what a mom should be and this day is lonely, filled with sorrow, and for some, a deep, deep bitterness because they never got to experience what their friends did while they growing up. Mother’s Day is complicated. Continue reading “Encouragement For All Mothers

BCC Cheetahs Team Tennis
Game, Set, and Match!

Hi Everyone,

For the first time ever the BCC Tennis Academy fielded a team for the USTA Team Tennis 10 and Under League. The BCC Cheetahs trained hard and competed in each and every match. They wrapped up their Spring season with a big win over Oak Tree Country Club winning 26-22! It has been an incredible experience for all of our kids. I want to thank Brad Lund, our Head Coach, along with Steve Porter and Asiah Hardwick for all of their work with the kids this Spring. I also want to thank the parents who made sure the kids made it to practice each Saturday and to the matches on Sunday afternoons. Daniel Newton and Javier Vasquez were our Captains and they did such a good job of leading the team. Kadence Williams, Lloyd Washington, Macy Hays, and Kellen Hays were also members of the Cheetahs. Each of our kids improved tremendously throughout the Spring season! The Cheetahs have already signed-up to play in the USTA 10 and Under Summer Team Tennis League. You should come out and cheer them on! Continue reading “BCC Cheetahs Team Tennis

I hope you will click “read more” and enjoy some of the pictures from our time together. Continue reading “Cinco de Mayo 2017

Nicholas Ludwig Von Zinzendorf was born into nobility, to one of the wealthiest families of Europe. Born in Dresden, Germany on May 26, 1700, he never knew his father since he died of tuberculosis six weeks after the young Count was born. His mother married again when he was just four years old and he was sent to live with his grandmother, a godly woman who had a great influence on his life. His grandmother taught him about the things of God and the young boy showed great interest. By the time he was fifteen he was reading the Bible on his own, spending time in prayer, and able to read the New Testament in Greek. Continue reading ““Here Is The Man!”
