It was a GREAT first day of SOCCER CAMP! Close to forty students practiced on the basics in soccer and in LIFE. Coach Irvin helped everyone remember the importance of verbal edification (Ephesians 4:29) on and off the field…even when it’s hot!
Thanks Coach Irvin, Jessica, Danny, Sonny, James, Bakwish & Carlos for being a HUGE blessing!
It’s not too late to sign up! Camp goes from 4:30-7:30 p.m. today thru Saturday!
Get ready BCC and OKC for our 4th annual Summer Buddies math & reading camp!
For the past several years we have been serving families during the “off season” so that students can stay in the game academically!
Summer time is fun time! And who says that learning has to be boring? I love watching the kids literally run into the building to learn each day! Their faces lite up with excitement as they get into their lessons. Thanks to our team, the kids we serve are better prepared to start the new school year. We had a fantastic evening at the GLOW Festifall event. We are always blessed to see so many families from the community each year as we provide a safe alternative to Halloween. I was blessed to see a young man who used to call BCC home 9 years ago. He was a teenager when I last saw him, and he plans to come to church on Sunday. You never know who the Lord will bring through the doors any given night. All we have to do is let Him work. I want to personally thank Linda Birsner and all of her volunteers for making it a positive experience for everyone.
Soccer is a new thing to BCC, but it’s not a new thing to our community. Don’t believe me? Come up to the church tonight between 4:00-7:30 and just see the turnout for our first soccer camp. The camp runs until Friday, which means we have plenty of time to love on some kids. Soccer may not be your thing but, thankfully, the gospel transcends all things.
“Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.”
What an amazing week we are having at VBS! Our theme Scripture for the morning was Psalms 147:3 which says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Can you think of a greater lesson for anyone to learn in this mean old world which is certain to produce tears in the eyes and hearts of our little ones? I hope you will enjoy the pictures from today.
It was another amazing morning in VBS at BCC! There is nothing more fun than being around a bunch kids who are excited about learning about Jesus! I’ve been walking around for two mornings taking pictures and I’ve got to tell you…we have some incredible leaders pouring into our kid’s lives. A million thanks to our Children’s Minister Shelby Henrici and her amazing team of volunteers. You guys are planting seeds in the hearts of our little ones that will grow and blossom in years to come. I have a friend who says, “You can count the number of seeds in an apple, but you can never count the number of apples in a seed.” I believe the Lord is going to use these to do great things in years to come. Thanks for sacrificing a week of your time to bless them with your love and God’s Word. Continue reading “Mt. Everest VBS The Journey Continues!”
What an amazing beginning to the Mt. Everest Expedition VBS at Britton Christian Church! We had 86 kids for our opening day of Vacation Bible School and the smiles in the pictures tell the whole story! Our Children’s Minister, Shelby Henrici, has put together an MVP team of leaders and helpers! VBS is lots of fun, but the most important part of our morning is learning God’s Word.
On Sunday morning we talked about how important it is to tell and teach the next generation about who God is and what He has done. Our kids will be learning each and every day this week. Please keep them in your prayers. You can check out the pictures by clicking “read more.” Continue reading “We’re Headin’ to Mt. Everest! VBS @ BCC 2015”
